Sergio-Antonio Ortega-Diaz, 48, was arrested on Saturday, Nov. 9, after Wilton Police responded to numerous 911 calls of a dangerous driver, said the Wilton Police.
When police caught up with Ortega-Diaz on Danbury Road, they found that he was driving without a license, police said.
While speaking with him through his opened driver's door, officers spotted a police-style retractable baton in the side door pocket.
The weapon was seized and Ortega-Diaz was placed in handcuffs. During a search, police also found a large double edge knife in his right front pants pocket with the blade facing upwards.
A search of his vehicle revealed numerous other weapons under the front seat including an unsheathed knife, a baseball bat, a sledgehammer, and a clawed hammer, police said.
Due to a language barrier, a Spanish speaking officer responded to the scene from the Norwalk Police.
Based on an odor of alcoholic beverage, Ortega-Diaz was administered field sobriety test which he performed to standard, officers said.
Ortega-Diaz was charged with illegal weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a dangerous weapon, and driving without a license.
He is being held on a $1,000 bond.
